Arun Silva is a first year undergraduate studying Music at the University of Kent. He is a classically trained organist and singer performing with the University of Kent choir and ensemble (Medway) and at external concerts. Arun plays for church events as a stand in organist and enjoys collaborating musically with others. He is a performer, a film maker, sound technologist and IT/web consultant. Arun founded Silva Media in 2013 (www.silvamedia.net) to provide services in IT, website design, social media, music performance, event recording, photography and film making; bringing together his interests in media and music.
Arun was a treble soloist with the chapel choir at St John’s Beaumont prep school during his early school years, where he performed in several concerts including events for the Mayors of Windsor, Peterborough and the Queen. He went on to study piano, voice and organ on the Music Award Holder’s programme at Charterhouse School until 2016. He was a member of the Chamber, Chapel and Concert Choirs at Charterhouse where he took part in several concerts at school and externally. He has performed at the Godalming Music Festival and also given a recital in Colombo, Sri Lanka where he maintains musical involvement during annual visits. Whilst at school, he played organ for school chapel services and was also responsible for daily music on the Carillon Bells for the school. He has performed with choirs in Germany (Cologne), Prague and Italy on tour and took an active role in the musical and creative life at Charterhouse ending his time there with a solo Evening Recital.

At University, Arun is involved in student activities as President of the Music Society, Secretary of the Student Union (Medway), Course Representative for the School of Music & Fine Arts and a Student Ambassador.
Arun will be performing a solo Organ & Voice Recital on 17th June 2017 to raise funds for the Eikon Charity.

Warren Green Singing Prize 2015 and Prain Organ Prize 2016 (Charterhouse)
Greyhound Award 2015- awarded for services to the school including music and culture. Filmed and edited over fifty events for the Charterhouse Arts Festivals in 2015 and 2016, set up a media club to train younger students and recorded several events for the school
