The Spirit of Christmas
Virtual Charity Concert 2021
with the KSL Music Collective
5.30 pm (UK Time) Sunday 19th December 2020
This event is fundraising for the TTVS Charity & St Anne's Bagshot
We are the KSL Music Collective - a group of musicians from Kent, Surrey and London. We have been bringing music to the community through performances online during lockdowns in the past year, whilst raising funds for a good cause. Our previous concert The Spirit of Christmas 2020, in aid of The Medway Street Angels charity successfully raised much-needed funds for the homeless, beating our target and was well attended, featuring Christmas favourites. This year we are producing another virtual Christmas concert which is fundraising for the TTVS community volunteering charity in Devon and St Anne's Bagshot.
The musicians are volunteering their time and talent to provide entertainment through uplifting Christmas music. We are grateful for all donations whatever the amount, to help us towards the fundraising target, which will go directly to the chosen charities. The Spirit of Christmas Concert 2021 will be streamed via YouTube on the 19th of December at 5.30 pm GMT and will feature a variety of music including instrumentals and songs, with something for everyone. The concert is free to watch online, all donations are welcome. Two lucky donors (UK-based) will be selected at random from our JustGiving page to win a delicious box of brownies from The Beeston Brownie Company. To be in with a chance of winning a brownie box, please ensure you share your email address with JustGiving when making a donation to allow us to get in touch with the winners. TTVS Charity TTVS is a dynamic and innovative charity, leading volunteer and community activity throughout Torridge, North Devon by providing strong and influential leadership, advocacy, governance and support within this sector. They deliver a diverse range of projects that together seek to improve lives and build healthier and more resilient communities, including young carers, older people living with dementia and people who find themselves struggling with finding employment. TTVS is a registered charity founded 32 years ago, and since then has grown into a highly regarded community resource, being a lead for volunteering in the Torridge area. They work in partnership with other organisations such as the Torridge PCN to manage social prescribers and the third sector. St Anne's Bagshot St Anne's has been supporting the Bagshot community for 130 years. The church has been a venue for community events and music, including hosting our concerts since 2017. This year, we would like to thank the St Anne's community by donating a proportion of the funds raised in appreciation of their support of our events and showcasing the performances of our artists. Some of the performances in this year's concert will be filmed at St Anne's. The Beeston Brownie Company The Beeston Brownie Company produce luxury handmade chocolate brownies to buy online and have delivered by post. The Music in Springtime Concert will be streamed via YouTube on the 18th of April at 5.30 pm GMT and will feature a variety of genres including light classical music, jazz and pop - instrumentals and songs, with something for everyone. The concert is free to watch, donations are voluntary. To Make a donation to the Young Minds charity go to our JustGiving page. Young Minds - Fundraising for Mental Health In the UK today, an estimated five children in every classroom has a mental health problem. A quarter of 17-year-old girls have self-harmed in the last year, while suicide remains the single biggest killer of boys and young men. But things can get better. Young Minds provide young people with tools to look after their mental health. They give young people the space and confidence to get their voices heard and change the world we live in. Coronavirus has had a significant impact on the mental health of young people. A survey carried out by Young Minds in autumn 2020, found that: - Almost a quarter of respondents (23%) said that there was less mental health support in their school than before the pandemic. - 40% of respondents said that there was no school counsellor available to support students in their school. - 69% of respondents described their mental health as poor now that they are back at school. This concert is produced and promoted by Silva Media. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity. |
